Stand-Alone Solar PV Systems Integration


This course aims to provide a good understanding of the common safety practice, components specification, design rules as well as process to install a standalone solar system. This course will specify the competency required to design and develop the critical elements supporting a safety compliance standalone solar PV system At the end of this course, the participants will be able to

•        Demonstrate the SAPV safety requirements and basic of electricity principle in standalone solar system

•        Demonstrate the basic components / tools needed and building / site consideration in standalone solar system installation

•        Apply practical installation & measurement skills to address the needs of safety and energy efficiency in setting up a standalone solar system

•        Construct a standalone PV system using training kits / facilities provided


The course is intended for Junior and senior Technician, Junior Engineer or Electrical engineering background participants

The candidate must posses’ basic technical background in power engineering, electrical, electronic engineering, or other related fields at Diploma or Degree levels


Structured Activities

For each of the topic covered, the students are first taught the basic concepts. The principle of operation and its practical implementation are then covered. A set of solar training kit will be used to facilitate the lab practical. Measurement of electrical system, site inspection method and tools needed for installation process of standalone solar PV module will be carried out to illustrate the principles and techniques taught.

Full integration cycle and complete hardware set for standalone solar PV system installation exercises will be provided as well in order to maximize learning experience in solar system installation
